Gorton Philharmonic Orchestra returns to Gorton Monastery Sunday 13th July 2008

DUE TO VERY HIGH DEMAND TICKETS FOR
THE CONCERT HAVE ALL BEEN SOLD

 

The programme will include:

    Overture Carnival Romain  /  Berlioz

    The Lark Ascending  /  Vaughan Williams
            Soloist: Rolf Wilson 

    Karelia Suite  /  Sibelius

    Pomp and Circumstance March No. 1  /  Elgar

    The Planets /  Holst

 The concert will be conducted by the Society’s Musical Director, Nicholas Simpson.

Everyone at the Monastery is really looking forward to another sell out concert this year and it will be wonderful to welcome back Gorton Philharmonic to enjoy this exciting new programme of music. The Monastery’s reputation as a cultural venue for fine performances is already growing and we would encourage everyone to book early to be guaranteed a ticket for this splendid occasion” Elaine Griffiths.

In order to allow concert goers to view the magnificently restored building, there will be an extended interval. A bar and café facilities will be open from 6.30pm so visitors can enjoy a pre-concert drink. The concert starts at 7.30pm.

Free secure parking at The Monastery for up to 250 cars.
